Sustainable Urban Drainage

The development will utilise a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SuDS) using natural drainage techniques to improve water quality management and increase biodiversity. The proposed SuDS ponds system will offer increased public accessibility, significant biodiversity and natural habitat benefits with new species-rich meadows, and grassland areas.

Encouraging green and active travel

We will look to promote green and active travel through cycleways and footpaths, secure cycle storage, changing rooms and showers within the units and Electric Vehicle charging points. A Travel Plan will be implemented to promote initiatives, including cycling and car sharing.

Creating new natural habitat

We will create an attractive environment for our neighbours and future employees. Substantial new landscaping, drainage and extensive native tree and shrub planting will provide significant natural habitat and environmental improvements. In particular, the southern site boundaries will feature new landscaping buffer areas, increasing biodiversity and screening the appearance of the development for nearby properties and the cemetery.

New and enhanced footpaths

Existing Public Rights of Way will be enhanced across the site and a network of new footpaths will offer access across the site. Direct new footpath and cycle route accesses will be provided from Low Wood Road and Nottingham Road. Footpaths through the site will provide public access to an attractive new area of open space for the enjoyment of local residents and visitors.
